Installation of Halcon image processing and machine vision software
To use this bank, you must first install HALCON software, the most powerful image processing software in the world. This powerful simulator has made the work of image processing programmers very easy. You may not have heard the name of this software. It should be noted that so far more than hundreds of thousands of projects in the world have been done with this software. The free version of this software along with its installation and crack tutorial has been posted by the site for the first time. You can download this version from here download. And after HALCON software installation, you will access the bank of image processing projects.
Access to image processing project bank
By using the HALCON software project bank, you can easily access thousands of ready-made projects. With this, you will see the similar projects you want along with their source code and photos. As mentioned in the previous section, to access the project bank, you need to download and install the HALCON software. Enter the HALCON software and click on “Browse HDevelop Example Programs” from the toolbar.
By clicking on the mentioned option, the example search window will return to you. There are two ways to search for projects, which will be explained below.
The first method: search for image processing projects based on category
In the examples window, there are more than a thousand ready-made image processing projects that you can see and run by clicking on them. In this window, you can access more than a thousand projects. You can search for your desired example based on your desired category. There are 5 different categories here:
Application area (search for machine vision projects based on applications)
In this branch, you can search for your examples based on applications. Things like color recognition, barcode recognition, print recognition, letter and number recognition, object recognition, position recognition, texture recognition, etc. are included in this category. Click on the Application area to see its sub-categories. By selecting the color inspection sub-category, seven projects will be displayed in the corresponding box. Each project has a name and a short description, for example the name of the second example from the color-fuse row. This example refers to the color of the fuses. A short explanation is written in front of it (sort fuse by color). This explanation actually states that in this example the fuses are grouped based on their color.
Industry (search for machine vision applications by industry)
In this section, examples are selected based on the type of industry in question. Among its sub-branches are packaging, paper industries, chemical industries, food and agriculture industries, etc. in this category.
Method (search based on image processing algorithms)
In this branch, projects are categorized based on image processing algorithms. For example, by choosing the classification algorithm according to the image, you can see all the examples in which this algorithm is used.
Operator (search based on codes)
In this branch, examples are grouped based on HALCON codes (which are called operator modifications). One of the uses of this category is when you are interested in knowing how an algorithm or code is used. For example, suppose you want to learn how to use FFT filters, so by selecting FFT filters according to the image, all the examples in which this type of filter is used will be displayed.
New in Version (search based on software version)
In this window, projects are categorized based on version. One of the uses of this type of classification is that you understand what has been added or removed in the new versions.
The second method: search for image processing projects based on keywords
If you know the keywords you want, you can search quickly using keywords. For this purpose, it is enough to type the keyword you want in the specified box in the search window for examples. If you select only the main branches (applications, industry, etc.), your search bank will be all HALCON software projects. If you choose a sub-branch from the main branches, your search space will be limited to the desired sub-branch.
For example, by typing the word Barcode in the search box, all examples related to barcodes will be displayed.
Implementation of image processing projects with Halcon software
In the previous part, two methods for searching for examples were described. For example, suppose you are looking for barcode recognition using image processing. You can search using one of the mentioned methods. Since you are looking for an application, click on the search branch based on applications (Application area). Select the identification with barcodes category from among the different categories. By clicking on the barcode identification category, the related projects will be displayed.
Application area —> Identification with barcodes—> barcode orientation
To open the desired example, it is enough to click on the open option (or double-click on the desired example), now the desired example is returned in the HALCON software, where the source codes are displayed in the specified section. You can use these source codes to run your similar example. To run the project, it is enough to press the F5 key successively and watch the project execution process.
Access to standard images for image processing
HALCON software has many quality images in various fields of image processing. If you need images for testing and coding in any other software, you can use HALCON’s ready image bank. After installing the HALCON software, in order to access the image bank, it is enough to refer to the folder related to the images in the Halcon software. If you are using Windows 10 and did not change the default path of the examples when installing the software, this folder will be created in the following path.
C:/Users/PublicDocuments/MVTec/HALCON-12.0/examples/images
By entering this folder, a large bank of photos suitable for image processing will be available to you
. These photos can be used for coding in HALCON software or any other software. A big advantage of these photos is that in many cases there are several different images for the same project. The number of different photos can help you in testing the program.
